What are floorplan services?

Floorplan services are just what they sound like: Based on your requirements, an appraiser will measure the property's dimensions and area, then draw a basic or highly detailed floorplan. The appraiser's report and floorplan is a form that can be used to prove the accurate Gross Living Area (GLA), the sum of all livable space, of your home. How do floorplan services work?

During a home measurement service, a certified appraiser measures your home with a laser measuring device. As they move around the home, they make note of the layout of the rooms and other features, like stairs, entryways, walls, etc. Then, the appraiser develops a detailed sketch showing the total living area of the house and the general layout. The final product is a document that can be used to prove certain specs of your property — like the Gross Living Area (GLA) — on tax documents, property listings, and more.

When are floorplan services needed?
